The VAT detective nobody wants to become

The VAT Detective Nobody Wants to Become

Every month, somewhere in a finance department, someone puts on a metaphorical trench coat, grabs a magnifying glass, and starts hunting through Oracle screens, spreadsheets and invoice PDFs for the missing VAT clue.

Why is this box off by €4,312? Why did that intra-community supply land in the wrong return? Why is the Italian SdI rejecting an invoice that looked fine yesterday?

The VAT detective is not a job anyone signed up for. It is the role finance teams fall into when the tax engine, the ERP and the reporting stack don't actually talk to each other.

At itax4apps we think that role should not exist.

• Determination sits inside Oracle, configured through etax4apps, so the tax treatment is applied at the point of the transaction.
• Reporting, e-invoicing and SAF-T sit on top of the same source data in itax4apps, so the figures can be reconciled with Oracle.
• Country updates are generally delivered through configuration rather than custom development.

The result: fewer investigations, more confidence, and a lot less time spent squinting at line 47 of a VAT return wondering where it came from.

Put the trench coat back in the closet. Let Oracle and itax4apps do the detective work for you.
